ABOUT
The story behind the style.
STYLE NO. 8052 : FOREMAN OXFORD
The 8052 is a round toe oxford, classically crafted with Brick Settler leather, a Nitrile Cork outsole, Goodyear welt construction and triple stitched quality to function as a durable and smart-looking shoe.
THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE
Red Wing’s oxford styles were promoted as shoes for work and play, and all along the blue collar backbone of America one contingency of workers who took a strong liking to the style were factory floor managers, also known as Foremen. While factory workers needed sturdy boots, the foreman needed a shoe to move back and forth between his office and the work floor. A Red Wing oxford could stand up to the concrete floor and not be too heavy for an entire day spent behind a desk.

How it's made.
SMOOTH-FINISHED LEATHER
Smooth-finished leathers have a polished surface that enhances the true beauty and quality of the leather. Only the most premium, top-quality hides are used to craft smooth-finished leathers. The result is a beautiful, classic-looking leather used to build more elegant styles, such as the Red Wing Heritage Beckman Collection. The polished look and feel of the smooth-finished leather requires more specialized care and attention to keep it maintained.
