Overview 

The 4TB Mercury Elite Pro External Hard Drive from Other World Computing combines both USB 3.0 and FireWire 800 connectivity making this a versatile drive that can be utilized with computers running Windows, Mac, and Linux. This drive features a SATA interface along with a 16MB Cache and a 7200 rpm rotational speed. Data can be transferred to and from the drive quickly and efficiently with support for data transfer rates up to 300 MB/s over USB 3.0, with additional connection options including USB 2.0, USB 1.1, FireWire 800, and FireWire 400.

The drive is placed in a rugged aluminum enclosure that helps to guard against minor drops and vibrations. Additionally, the aluminum enclosure also doubles as a heat sink to keep things cool.

Overview 

The 6TB My Book Duo External RAID Storage from Western Digital is an external RAID storage enclosure that comes equipped with two Western Digital Red drives. These RAID tested drives come preconfigured within this enclosure in a RAID 0 format for optimum performance supporting data transfer rates of up to 290 MB/s. The drives can also be reformatted to either RAID 1 for enhanced protection or JBOD to use the drives individually.

The My Book Duo comes pre-formatted NTFS to be used on systems running Windows 8 or higher, Windows 7, or Windows Vista. A simple reformat is required to use the My Book Duo with Mac based systems. Overview 

The 4TB Taurus Super-S3 LCM from Akitio is a dual-bay hard drive enclosure with two hard drives preinstalled for storing data on your Windows or Mac computer. The drives can be hardware configured via the enclosure in a RAID 0 or 1. Configuring the hard drives in RAID 0 will offer reads up to 250MB/s. In order to transfer data at these speeds to the computer system under RAID 0, it is recommended to use either the USB 3.0 or eSATA connections. This drive also features two FireWire 800 ports and a FireWire 400 port.

The Taurus Super-S3 LCM offers a LCD display for easy device configuration, event messages, and detailed information about the drives. Information provided about the drives includes temperature, serial number, storage capacity, drive failure, and when a cable is unplugged.
